EMPLOYMENT & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

MMS Mentoring Program

APS Education Foundation and ABC has partnered with Manzano Mesa Elementary School to bring you an award-winning volunteer mentoring opportunity. We are seeking community volunteers who would like to work one-on-one with first and second grade struggling readers. The program runs from October through May, but we are recruiting on an ongoing basis. Give as little as an hour per week and make a huge impact in a child's life. Volunteers choose the day of the week to volunteer from 1-2 PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Volunteers must have an APS background check.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS

If You Could Increase High School Graduation Rates by 20%, Would You?

Big Brothers Big Sisters has a new mentoring program designed to increase high school graduation rates and better prepare students for higher education. The program is entering its third year at South Valley Academy and Amy Biehl High School. We are matching every incoming freshman at both of these schools one-on-one with an adult mentor. Will you join us as one of these mentors?

Being a mentor has never been easier. As a mentor, you will e-mail your mentee once a week and attend an in-person event at your mentee’s school every 4-6 weeks. You will be provided weekly prompts that guide your e-mail conversations and a Match Support Specialist to assist you throughout the mentoring relationship.

We hope you’ll join us.
